Blog #12 for 4/30 Oscar R.

I was able to make some connections to the what the subtitled section "How to Write One Essay with Four Writers?" talked about. In one of my writing composition classes for teachers during my undergrad years, we would have "reports" or "papers" that we needed to write with our group members regarding whatever activity or project we were working on. We needed to do like three of these during the semester. At first, I was confused as to how we were supposed to curate and write one whole paper with four different group members and four different "voices". The first try was quite difficult because we struggled with splitting our responsibilities. We also struggled with making it cohesive and concise whilst having all of our "voices" heard. After the first trial, it became quite simple. Instead of assigning a paragraph to each person or some people taking total control, we would meet up and work on the paper together, each of forming ideas and sentences together. We were able to successfully write our papers each time. The reading from this week talked about the group members wrote summaries about the readings and then they shared those with the group and then went forward with the writing. From my own experience, this is actually really helpful and beneficial. We did this in our group. Instead of writing our summaries, we went around in a circle and just talked about what we read and what we thought was important and from there we found and wrote down points that we had all agreed on. It allowed everyone to talk, hear, share, and also made everyone actually read the essays and articles.

I think some of the important things that are needed when doing group papers is...

1. Allowing everyone to share their ideas and explain them out loud OR have them write them down whatever they find more useful and comfortable for them

2. Finding similar ideas and making agreements. If the group does not agree, the paper will no be successful

3. Have meetings either in person, via zoom, via email, etc and talk it out and work together on it.
